General Booking

In order to ensure each guest has the best experience possible, we typically do not allow for early check-ins. Please reach out to us directly if you require an early check-in, and we will do our best to accommodate for an extra fee of $50, subject to availability.

All availability is current and updated on each property’s calendar. Calendars for each property open up 9 months in advance. Please reach out to us directly if the dates you are interested in are not available or if you are looking to book a stay further out than 9 months.

The Blue Parrot (Joshua Tree) is a short-term, vacation rental so we do not typically offer stays lasting more than 2 weeks. Please reach out to us for requests longer than 2 weeks.
Casa Luna (Bay Area) is intended for longer stays and we welcome guests to stay for 30+ days at a time.

No refunds will be offered or exceptions made for cancellation requests past what is stated in the policy. We highly recommend buying travel insurance to cover any unforeseen events or illnesses.
Alteration requests for change of dates and/or shortening your trip length will not be accepted within 30 days of your check-in date. Limit 1 alteration request per booking.
Please note that a signed rental contract is required to complete all Casa Luna reservations.

Both properties have fast, reliable Wi-Fi for guest use.

For both properties, we use smart lock boxes which can only be opened with your access code starting from 4 PM on the day of your check-in for The Blue Parrot and 12 PM on the day of your check-in for Casa Luna. This code will deactivate at 11 AM on the day of your check-out for The Blue Parrot and at 12 PM on the day of your check-out for Casa Luna.
Please be considerate of the check-in and check-out times as our cleaners require the full time to turn over the house.
Prior to departure, please ensure that dishes are cleaned and that used towels are placed in the bathroom or in the laundry hampers in the bedrooms. Properly dispose of any trash in the outdoor garbage/recycling bins. Returning items to their original locations helps keep our cleaning fees modest. Please secure all doors and windows, and turn off air conditioners and heaters. An additional cleaning fee will be deducted from the security deposit in the event the house is left notably dirty.

Yes, bed linens and towels are provided for both properties.

Cleaning fees are included in your booking. For longer stays at any property, we require light cleanings from our cleaning crew every 14 days at no additional cost to you.

Yes, a security deposit of $300 is required to rent either property. It will be voided 7 days after your departure.
The owner may withhold all or part of the deposit if any of the house rules are broken, and may seek further compensation if damages or violations exceed the security deposit amount. Cause for withholding deposit funds include, but are not limited to:
Damage to the premises or contents (including permanently stained bedding, towels or robes)
Missing or broken items requiring replacement (including keys)
Excessive cleaning required or excessive trash left behind
Lingering smell of tobacco smoke
Clogged plumbing due to flushing down inappropriate items or excessive toilet paper
Charges for mailing personal items left behind
Evidence of more persons using the property than were authorized
Evidence of a pet that wasn't authorized
Unauthorized late check-out

In order to offer the best experience for our guests, all It Was Moonglow properties do not allow for smoking of any kind on the premises.

The Blue Parrot — While we love animals, pets are not permitted on the property. Our yard is unfenced and the property has cacti and natural plants that can be toxic and fatal if ingested. Cleaning/repair fees will be charged if evidence of unauthorized pets are found, and your booking will be canceled.
The Blue Parrot is suitable for children 10+. Please reach out to us directly if you are interested in booking a stay with younger children. A Pack ‘n’ Play and baby monitor are available upon request.
Casa Luna — No pets allowed, with the exception of service animals. While we love animals, our furniture is not suitable for pets, and pets are not permitted in the building per our Homeowners Association. Cleaning/repair fees will be charged if evidence of unauthorized pets are found, and your booking will be canceled.
As Casa Luna is a one-bedroom condo and for parties of no more than 2 people, in most circumstances, it is not suitable for children. Please reach out directly if you are interested in booking with a child.

Yes, The Blue Parrot offers free driveway parking on the premises and includes four spaces. Casa Luna offers one free gated parking spot, and street parking permits are available through the city.

Both The Blue Parrot and Casa Luna offer an easy, seamless check-in process using a smart lockbox. To access the lockbox, you’ll be given a unique access code that is valid during your stay only.

While we don’t allow for early check-ins, you’re welcome to check in any time after 4 PM on your designated check-in day.

Yes, all properties provide a guidebook inside the property for your arrival. Upon booking, you will also be sent a digital guidebook with local recommendations. Please also reach out to us directly if you need customized recommendations, we’d be happy to help!

Our cleaning crew takes great care to notify us of any items left behind at the property. Please contact us immediately if you believe you left an item at one of our properties. We will request you email us a prepaid shipping label, and we would be happy to send your belongings to you ASAP.
